We focus on individual adult clients, because we believe true growth and healing happen when an individual gets to know themselves better. Our goal is to improve relationships in client’s lives by improving their relationship with themselves first. This allows growth in their intimate relationships, family relationships, parent/child relationships, work relationships, friendships, etc.

Trauma
Survivors

Whether it’s chronic or acute, we have experience treating trauma, PTSD, and cPTSD. Accelerated Resolution Therapy may be used to resolve, erase, and rewrite troubling memories.

Responders

Police, firefighters, paramedics, and military personnel have experiences and needs that set them apart. We have experience and training in meeting their needs.

If you are struggling with stress related to balancing life and work, navigating difficult management, or managing others, we’ve got tools to help.

What we offer


Individual
Therapy

On your terms, for the length of time you wish, at the speed you need. We provide telephone and video therapy in the comfort of your home (or office or car or neighbourhood…) and in person therapy in downtown Ottawa. We offer a private space for you to work through the issues holding you back.


Walk and Talk
Therapy

Pair the serenity of a long walk and a deep conversation with a skilled therapist. Using the proven science of the benefits of walking for emotion processing, our therapists will create a plan that includes moving your internal world where you’d like it to be while moving your body outdoors.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an eye-movement protocol that can help rapidly shift distressing emotions from memories, experiences, and beliefs.. In each session, you remain in control as we pair eye-movements with specific steps of recalling and shifting your memory in a similar manner to the memory consolidation processes that happen in REM sleep. Resolve your painful past in as few as 1-5 sessions.

Frequently asked questions

I’ve never been to therapy before. What can I expect during the first session?

Most people feel very nervous about first sessions, even if they’ve been to therapy before. First, I want you to know that you have the right, at any point, to say you don’t want to talk about something or answer one of my questions. Second, please take advantage of our free 15 minute consultation (book here) so that you can talk to us, see if we feel like the right fit for you, and to get some of those first session jitters out of the way. Finally, rest assured that you will be guided and supported through your first session, as we talk about what brought you to therapy, get a sense of your patterns, and start to set some goals together. You’ll finish the first session with a clearer sense of what we will work on together and how we will get to your goals.

How much does each session cost?

Session fees are $180 per session. Sessions are about fifty minutes long, to provide time for note taking after session.

Can I get reimbursement by my insurance for your services?

Most people do have coverage for “Registered Social Workers” or “Psychotherapy” under mental health services or psychology. Please check your individual plan for details.

Do you offer a sliding scale fee for those without insurance?

Yes, we do offer a sliding scale fee for a percentage of our practice, as determined by individual clinician. Please reach out to find out more details. Our goal is to honour your financial health while supporting your mental and emotional health.
